I am currently living in a council property and named as the main party on a joint tenancy. My ex-partner has deserted the family home and wishes to withdraw from the tenancy. The council is advising I seek legal advice as the tenancy would normally be dissolved for both, but my housing needs remain the same and I need to keep this home for me and my babies. I am so worried they will serve notice. Has anyone been through this?
