If youíve ever tried indoor rock climbing, youíll know that itís one of the most physically demanding exercises you can do. It works and strengthens the muscles you didnít even know were there, and builds stamina at an amazingly rapid rate. Itís also a great exercise for kids too, and like with adults, it helps to build fitness, confidence and stamina but also helps their coordination. Hereís where you can find childrenís rock climbing classes in Birmingham.
Redpoint Climbing Centre has indoor climbing and bouldering, which is a form of free climbing based around large boulders and small rock formations for kids and adults. They run the Miniature Rock Monkeys classes for kids aged 5 and 6 years, the Rock Monkeys for children aged 5 to 16 years and the More Mature Monkeys for older children from 13 to 17 years. They also offer school holiday programs and birthday parties, plus run outdoor climbing days for more experienced climbers.
Creation Climbing Centre is home to the Crag Rats Club, a rock climbing club designed and aimed at children and teenages aged from 4 to 17 years old who are serious about rock climbing. The sessions are held every Saturday and Sunday and the children are split into groups according to ability levels, which they can progress through with a maximum of 6 kids per group. Creation Climbing also holds birthday parties for children.

Rock Up well and truly has a rock climbing experience for all ages, with the introduction of their Toddler Climb classes. Toddler Climb provides an opportunity for pre-schoolers to have a go at climbing in a slower-paced and safe environment. Once theyíve had enough, they can have some soft play time! Older children can take part in the Rock Stars program for kids aged 4 to 10 years. There is no upper age limit, so children aged over 10 can have a go at any of the climbing walls and donít have to take part in special classes. Birthday parties are also available.
Rock Up also offers Autism and SEN friendly climbing sessions on the first and third Saturdays of the month. These sessions are run in a calm environment with no music and limited capacity.

The Depot Climbing Centre 10 Sherlock Street, Birmingham, B5 8LU 0121 822 5143 The Depot Climbing Centre runs their Kids Clubí for children aged between 7 and 13 years. Participants will get to grips with the climbing wall, play organised games and have some fun! They can also organise a birthday party.
Flash Climbing is a bouldering centre offering rock climbing for adults and children aged 4 and over. You can either bring them in to climb and supervise them yourself or let them take part in one of their kids sessions. They also organise birthday parties.
