Having children generally means lots of sacrifices, including your social life. But the good people at the Pigsty Bar Bistro and Haystack Barn in Solihull have clearly recognised the need for family-friendly dining and have accommodated parents with young children.

Pigsty Bar and Bistro has an outdoor children’s play area and is home to Haystacks Play Barn, a small indoor play centre, so regardless of the weather, it’s an ideal location to check out or meet up with friends with the little ones in tow.

Haystacks Play Barn is a small soft play centre that is aimed at children aged up to 8 years old. There is a small play structure made up of farm-themed challenges and a wavy slide, plus a play area for younger children.

There are themed activity days during the week in school holiday term time, such as fun with play doh and craft activities. Look out for special activities, such as Easter farm fun or Christmas gingerbread man decorating. Most of these activities are included in the entry price.

They also have coffee and cake mornings and pre-school meal deals – perfect for you and your toddler while the big kids are at school. If you are seeking a unique birthday party venue, you can choose a party package for children aged between 1 and 3 years or between 4 and 8 years, or you can hire the whole venue for yourselves for an extra special experience.

Still need an incentive to check it out? There is also a miniature golf course on site! The mini golf course has a dinosaur theme and there are lots of different challenges to overcome – it’s a fantastic place to hit the golf balls then settle down for a bite to eat.
