Cooking is a life skill that children can start to learn from an early age. If they are hovering around the kitchen while you cook and taking an interest in what you are doing, why not get them helping to wash, stir and mash?
If you would like to foster your child's love of cooking, Birmingham is home to a number of cooking and baking schools that can teach total beginners to advanced young cooks. You never know – you might discover a budding little chef on your hands.

A ‘Pop Up’ cookery school that runs classes all over Birmingham! They will let you know before your class where the current location is.
Children’s Cookery Classes, known as Children can cook, are available for children aged 4 to 7 years, 8 to 12 years and 13 to 16 years.
Cooking classes are taught by experienced chefs and cooks and are suitable for children of all abilities.
The recipes chosen can be recreated at home with parents.
Recipes can also be tailored for dietary requirements.

Kids classes are aimed at children aged between 8 and 12 years.
Classes run once a month on a Saturday afternoon.
Classes offer the opportunity for children to develop their palates, make healthy food choices and provide participants with a chance to learn about and try new foods, plus teach them about using cookers and utensils.

Courses last for approximately 3 hours and recipes can be recreated at home.
