Halloween Events For Kids In Birmingham

A list of some of the fantastic places in Birmingham where you and the kids can get dressed up for Halloween.

Do your children simply LOVE getting dressed up in their best spooky outfits and costumes for Halloween? Wednesday, October 31 2018 is the scariest day of the year, and there's plenty going on in and around Birmingham leading up to the date. Here's where you'll find the top family-friendly Halloween events in Birmingham.

October Half Term at Sarehole Mill
Colebank Road, Birmingham, B13 OBD
Dates and time: Saturday, 27 October to Sunday, 4 November from 11am

The kids can take part in a treasure trail and a craft activity!
Both activities are £2 each per child, or included as part of a membership.
Activities available on each day the mill is open (closed on Monday, 29 October.)

West Midlands Safari Park Spooky Spectacular
Bewdley, Worcs DY12 1LF
Dates and times: Saturday, 29 September to Sunday, 4 November 2018

A spooky spectacular at the West Midlands Safari Park!
Wizarding Workshops, Trick or Treat Trails and werewolf tales!

Kids Halloween Disco
The Boat Inn, Old Kingsbury Road, Sutton Coldfield, B76 9AE
Date and time: Wednesday, 31 October at 5pm.

A free, fun event for the kids to come along to and play party games and dress up.
Lots of treats and a few tricks!

Witches and Wizards Halloween Afternoon Tea
Moor Hall Hotel and Spa, Sutton Coldfield
Date and time: Wednesday, 31 October at 1:30pm

Dress in your best spooky outfit, bring your spells and come and enjoy a lovely afternoon tea.
Meet and greet with the kids’ favourite characters, listen to storytime and play games.
See balloon magic and juggling.
Adults £20.95, children £11.50.

Halloween Kitchen
Becketts Farm, Birmingham
Dates and time: Monday, 29 October to Wednesday, 31 October at various times between 10am and 2pm

Come and join this spooky session of pumpkin carving and muffin making at the Cookery School.
Your little monsters will be provided with their own pumpkin to create the spookiest jack o’lantern and afterwards, will learn what to do with it’s insides by making delicious, decorated pumpkin muffins.
The sessions will be entertaining and fun and are most suitable for children aged 6 and over, although younger children are welcome if supervised throughout the whole session.
All children require adult supervision whilst carving pumpkins (at least 1 guardian per 2 children). The cost is £18 per child.

Spooky Storytelling Workshop
Creative Coffee Hub, Selly Oak
Date and time: Wednesday, 31 October at 12pm

Do your little ones love telling tall tales?
In this 90 minute workshop, the children will listen to a spooky story and then work together to create their own Halloween themed tale!
Each participant will receive a free hot chocolate (or cold) with marshmallows and whipped cream to enjoy with their story.
The workshop is suitable for children ages 6 to 10 and the cost is £6 per child or £10 for two children.
Bookings are essential.

Dr Nerium’s Garden of Ghouls – the Botanical Scare Gardens
The Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Dates and time: Friday, 26 October to Sunday, 4 November from 5pm each day

Take on the live action spooky trail through the ‘Birmingham Scare Gardens’.
Dr Nerium’s Garden will feature street food, performers, music and entertainment.
The event will hold family friendly sessions between 5pm and 7pm, which are catered for families with children of all ages.
The sessions after 7pm are for adults and teens aged 14 and over.
Tickets start from £11 for children aged 5 to 16 years and from £13.20 for adults. Children under 5 years are free.

Aston Hall Halloween
Aston Hall
Date and time: Wednesday, 31 October between 11am and 4pm

See Aston Hall transformed into a spooky haunted mansion.
The kids can have a go at the children’s pumpkin trail, see a wtich trial and meet some creepy characters.
Tickets are included in the cost of admission.

Spooky Science Week
Thinktank Science Museum, Millenium Point, Curzon Street, Birmingham B4 7XG
Dates and time: Saturday, 27 October to Sunday, 4 November between 11am and 4pm

Interactive Slime Labs will take place from Monday to Friday from 11am to 12pm.
The Science of Fright Show will take place from Monday to Friday at 1pm and 3pm.
Storytelling at 2pm – suitable for children under 8.
Arts activities from 3pm to 4pm.
Family packs for families with children aged 3 to 7 years.
Activities included in the cost of admission.
