by BecSorby (follow)
There are so many activities for children at the RAF Museum in Gosford.

Not all museums are created equal in terms of family friendliness, but the Royal Air Force Museum in Cosford has a myriad of things for kids and their parents to enjoy. It is home to interesting exhibitions that will appeal to children and adults alike, kids’ activities and events and it is even situated next to an active airfield, giving families the opportunity to see various aircraft up close. Even better – entry to the museum is free!

Located in Shropshire, the RAF Museum Cosford houses over 70 aircraft, including the world’s oldest Spitfire and a Lincoln Bomber, plus many other aircraft with historical and international significance.

Exhibitions include the National Cold War Exhibition, which was opened in 2007, has 19 of its aircraft suspended above the ground, plus cars, models, audio visual spots and the story of the Cold War told in a unique way – through life-size Russian Matryoshka dolls. The exhibition is also the only place in the UK where you can view Britain’s three V Bombers – the Vulcan, Victor and Valiant.

If your child is part of an organised group the can take part in a sleepover at the museum – children will take part in fun activities throughout the evening, followed by a film before bedtime.
