Sparks Young Writers Groups, Writing West Midlands Location: Throughout the Midlands
Sparks Groups are located all over the Midlands, although some courses are booked out for this year.
Groups are divided roughly into school years 3-6 (junior aged children) and school years 7-12 (secondary school aged children.)
Meetings are held monthly from September to June (10 sessions a year) for 2 hours on a Saturday.
They are designed to be fun, friendly and informal, and include a lot of laughs!
Each group is small and consists of a maximum of 15 children. Classes are led by a professional writer and an assistant.
The type of writing will include fiction, to creative writing, to playwriting, and the focus is on the writing itself, rather than spelling or punctuation.
These groups provide an opportunity for your child to develop their creative writing and develop confidence in their abilities, without the pressure of being assessed on their writing. Feedback and suggestions are a part of the group, but not grading.
The Birmingham Crochet Club meets fortnightly to learn crochet, meet other Birmingham mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
