When my sister and I were young we would beg our dad to take us to the local pub. Why? Because it had a ball pit, which was THE BEST THING EVER at that moment in time. I can’t remember if the meals were any good, but boy did we love jumping in and out of that ball pit and going down the little slide.
Child-friendly pubs certainly have come a long way since those days. At
Hungry Horse at the Reservoir, Earlswood there is a
Wacky Warehouse and a lovely outdoor play area, making it a doubly child-friendly outing for a meal.

If that’s not enough of an incentive to visit, Hungry House at the Reservoir also offers kids’ meals for just a quid every Monday! There are loads of different meals to choose from including pizza, chicken breast, chicken nuggets and a beef burger. Meals for adults include share plates, starters, grills and burgers, sides and delicious desserts.

But the Wacky Warehouse is possibly the biggest drawcard for parents with young children. This soft play centre has a heap of things on offer for kids aged 12 and under, including the Wacky Club, Tot Club and birthday parties.

The centre is open all week from 9:30am on weekdays and from 11am on weekends. It costs £3.75 per child for one hour’s play, making it an ideal place for them to run around and work up an appetite before you sit down for a meal. Since it is open until 7:30pm from Mondays to Thursdays and Sunday, and 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays, it’s also a great way for them to work off their tea before bedtime!
The Tot Club is available to pre-schoolers under 5 years during term time on Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 3pm and costs £2.25 per child for unlimited play and free squash! Even better – children under 12 months and adults are free to enter!

The
Tot Club has plenty of activities on offer for the youngest members of the family, including arts and crafts and little meals, just for kids.
Wacky Club is a loyalty program for regulars to Wacky Warehouse – simply purchase any of the monthly play passes and enjoy unlimited play for the month. The pass can even be used at any Wacky Warehouse across the UK. You’ll also get 10% off food within the month. Passes start from just £7.50.

They also hold
birthday parties , which from £7.99 per child include an hour soft play, a party bag and buffet, unlimited squash, balloons, invites and even a host.
To enter Wacky Warehouse, children must wear socks, long sleeved tops and trousers.
If you need somewhere child-friendly for a family meal out, Hungry Horse at the Reservoir is the place to go. Put it on your to-do list and let the kids have a play before their tea.
