Child Friendly Fitness Facilities in Birmingham

A fantastic list of baby and child-friendly fitness classes and centres in and around Birmingham.

Getting your fitness back after you have had a baby is no easy feat. Not only has your body been through the major trauma of birth, but there is obviously now a baby to look after! Once you are ready to get back into gentle exercise following the birth, you may want to look into baby and child-friendly fitness classes, or try a gym that has a crèche. If you are looking for somewhere to take your baby to while you work out, here are some fantastic places in Birmingham.

One Fit Mama
Locations: There are locations throughout the Midlands – read on here

Classes include OneFitMama and OneFitBump.
OneToughMama classes are bootcamp-style sessions suitable for mums 10 months postpartum and over.
OneFitCore classes are designed to strengthen the core muscles and pelvic floor.

Squats and Tots – aimed at parents looking to get back into fitness.
No need to book, just turn up.

Fitness classes for pregnant and postnatal women.
Has a supervised area where you can leave your baby.
BirthFit – a specialised exercise program for pregnant women from 12 weeks.

Has a creche that is open at certain times of the day.
Leave the kids with a childcare professional while you work out.
Wolverhampton Centre also has a crèche.

David Lloyd Bromsgrove

Creche is open from 9:30am to 11:30am.
Also has a kids’ holiday club and kids’ fitness programmes.

Virgin Active, Solihull

Has a crèche that is available to children aged 6 weeks and over.
Also has a kids’ fitness programme and swimming programme.

Wyndley Leisure Centre
Clifton Rd, Sutton Coldfield B73 6EB

Creche is open from 9am to 1pm daily.
'Shop and Drop' also available – the kids can stay at the crèche while you shop.

Female Fitness Matters, Harborne and Bournville

Kerry offers weekly classes, including Mumfit on Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning, plus Thursday morning Boxercise for mums, both of which are suitable from 6 weeks postnatal and include a supervised children's corner.
Wednesday evening is Tough Mutha (suitable from 6 months postnatal and mums only.)
Monday and Wednesday evening is pregnancy exercise classes, which combine cardio and strength and conditioning, providing an alternative to yoga and also an element of birth preparation.
