A fantastic list of car and transport activities around the West Midlands.
Cars, motorbikes and trains have been made into toys and children's characters for decades, so it's no surprise that some kids love all things transport.
If you've got a little car or bike lover or a little train spotter in the family, the West Midlands are full of transport-based family activities and events. Here is where to find them.
National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull
Location: Coventry Road, Bickenhall, Solihull B92 0EJ

A must-do experience for children and families who simply love motorcycles.
Come and see a range of motorcycles through the ages.
Offers educational visits for schools.
Also has a restaurant and coffee cart open daily.

British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire
Location: Banbury Road, Gaydon, Warwickshire, CV35 0BJ

Come and see over 300 British classic cars and other vehicles that tell the story of Britain's transport industry.
Exhibitions include Time Road and Sports Cars, plus Jaguar and Land Rover.
Has a children's playground and runs school holiday events for families.
Family activities include interactive displays, touch screens and mini models.
Aldridge Transport Museum, Walsall
Location: Shenstone Drive, Northgate, Aldridge, Walsall, WS9 8TP

Has a range of vehicles on display and in various stages of restoration, including, buses, commercial vehicles and cars.
Is open Tuesday, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.
Transport Museum Wythall
Location: Chapel Lane, Wythall, Worchestershire, B47 6JA

Has a range of restored buses and vehicles on display.
Runs the popular Main Event Days, which are great for families and offer lots of activities for children.

Coventry Transport Museum

Exhibitions include Model World, an interactive zone for children of all ages, plus a number of exhibits dedicated to local transport through the ages.
Runs regular events, including Dad’s Days Out, which are suitable for parents and children aged over 3 years, although all are welcome to attend.
Is also home to the 4D Land Speed Record Simulator in which you can experience what it’s like to drive faster than the speed of sound! Children must be aged 4 and over 1.07m tall to ride and children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dudley Canal Tunnel and Limestone Mines

A fascinating look at an ancient underground world – hidden beneath the streets of Dudley!
There are a range of trips available from 45 minutes to 6 hours.
Also offer a special ‘Tunnel Tots’ canal ride for parents and children aged under 5 years! Come along and enjoy songs on this 20 minute ride that costs just 60p!
Leaves every Monday at 10am.
