10 Reasons to Visit Kingsbury Water Park

Some fantastic reasons to pay a visit to this huge country park.

As the British weather improves, so do the opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy a walk in the park, a trip to the lake or a picnic besides the playground. At Kingsbury Water Park, you can do all three of these things and much more! This 600 acre country park has loads of activities and things to do for families, including a miniature railway, playground, pedal boats, children’s farm, a café and they even offer birthday parties! In fact, here are ten reasons to visit Kingsbury Water Park.

1. The children’s play area

The Adventure Playground at Far Leys is suitable for older children and is completely fenced, providing a safe area for children to play. The Lake View play area has a play tower, seesaw, outdoor gym and more.

2. Miniature Railway

The Echills Wood Railway offers miniature train rides around the park. You can ride a diesel or electric locomotive or tram on the 2 kilometre track and runs a regular passenger service each Sunday from February or March to December, subject to weather conditions and volunteer availability. During winter, the train runs between 11am and 3pm and between 11am and 4pm in summer. A return ticket from either of the two stations is £2 for all passengers age 2 years and above. Children under 2 years travel free. A single ticket from one station to another is £1.

3. Children’s Farm

At Broomey Croft Children’s Farm, the kids can meet and feed the farmyard animals, including pigs, sheep, goats, llamas and rabbits, plus enjoy some soft play or have a ride on a tractor. The farm also has a tearoom and offers birthday parties. The farm is open between 10am and 4pm in summer and between 10am and 5pm during winter. Entry fees are £4.90 for adults, £4.40 for pensioners and children aged 2 and over. Children under 2 years are free.



4. Donkey Rides and Horseriding

Donkey rides operating on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays from the start of April to the end of October (weather permitting.)

If you’d like to go horseriding through the park, contact Dunton Stables, a local stable who can organise trekking at Kingsbury Water Park.



5. Seasonal Events and Activities

Kingsbury Water Park runs seasonal activities and events for Easter, Halloween and Christmas, plus offers school holiday activities,plus dedicated play sessions for toddlers. You can see the full list of events here.

6. Birthday parties

If you’d like to have a unique birthday party for your children, Kingsbury Water Park is the place to go! They have birthday party packages tailored to nursery school and primary school aged children and you can choose various themes, including outdoor, art, wildlife and adventure. All equipment is provided, along with a Ranger to host and use of a dedicated party room.

7. Pedal Boats

Take a ride down the lake aboard a pedalo boat! The boats are available to hire during summer.

8. Bicycle hire

With so many surfaced paths running through the park, it is the perfect place to ride a bicycle with the family. Don’t have a bike? Hire one from Big Franks Cycle Hire on weekends and during school holidays – call 07977 458799 for more information.



9. The Old Barn Café

Need a break for coffee? Kids need an ice cream? Head to the Old Barn Café, which serves hot and cold drinks, a selection of hot and cold snacks and ice cream and treats.

10. Stunning countryside and fresh air!

If you need to get some fresh air, Kingsbury Water Park is the perfect place – it is comprised of stunning countryside, along with 15 different lakes and is home to lots of local wildlife. It is a fantastic setting for a family picnic, gentle walk or area to play with the kids.
